Another Lumen Room shoot went down in history in celebration of Naomi’s first birthday! My cousin, Jill, met the love of her life, Dafe, in the summer of 2016. She always told me growing up that she was waiting for the right one, and when they found each other, she knew! The following year they were married, and shortly after settling into life with one another, sweet Naomi came into our family. My boys are so happy to have another cousin (or second cousin!) to play with. It’s been an absolute joy to watch your family grow and to preserve your legacy throughout the years!

Describe your family: 

“Our family is a mix of two different cultures coming together in one mostly harmonious blend where we learn from each other daily and keep trying even when we fail to understand what is needed. We are loud and happy most of the time with a one-year-old who loves new noises and exploring everywhere.”

What is your definition of joy?

“Our definition of joy is the deep sweeping contentment and peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. Joy is not constant happiness all the time, but a constant reassurance that God is working all things for our good even when we don’t understand why something happening in our lives.”

Where is your happy place?

“Our happy place is not one particular place but the act of being together enjoying each other’s company and exploring new surroundings.”

What’s your favorite way to spend time together?

“Our favorite way to spend time together is probably piled on the couch all together watching a movie or reading a story to Naomi after a long day.”
